Professor or Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Energy and Processes
The Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (http://www.mavt.ethz.ch) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned position.
The new (assistant) professor is expected to establish an ambitious, world-class research program at the interface between process/chemical/mechanical engineering and energy science/engineering. More specific areas of research include (but are not limited to): renewable energy systems, heat and power storage systems, energy conversion processes, new materials for advanced energy systems and devices, and the use of subsurface resources within sustainable energy systems. Excellent research and teaching facilities are being established across ETH Zurich (including the initiative with IBM Zurich Research Laboratories). The successful candidate holds a PhD in process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field and should demonstrate an excellent international record of research accomplishments in engineering and/or natural sciences (including materials science). Generally, at the full professor level undergraduate level courses are taught in German or English and graduate level courses are taught in English.
At ETH Zurich assistant professorships have been established to promote the careers of younger scien¬tists. At the assistant professor level commitment to teaching and the ability to lead a research group are expected. ETH Zurich implements a tenure track system equivalent to other top-tier universities.
