Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, invites applications for a full-time, one-year appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor, starting July 1, 2020. We are seeking candidates with demonstrated enthusiasm and experience in teaching and mentoring undergraduates, and an ability to teach effectively at all levels of the curriculum. An interest in laboratory-based teaching and experiential learning is a plus. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a closely related field, and a B.S. in chemical engineering is preferred.
Lafayette College is a small, private, undergraduate-only institution emphasizing superior education in engineering and the liberal arts. The College is located in eastern Pennsylvania, 70 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia. The Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department has approximately 120 students across all four classes and places strong emphasis on student-faculty interaction in the classroom and laboratory. Lafayette College is one of the nation’s few undergraduate-only institutions offering an ABET-accredited, BS Chemical Engineering degree. Further information about the chemical and biomolecular engineering department can be found at https://che.lafayette.edu/
Applications, including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy and interests, a brief statement of research interests, and three letters of reference, can be submitted via Interfolio at https://apply.interfolio.com/73314. In the cover letter, applicants should address how their teaching would support Lafayette College’s commitment to diversity and inclusion as articulated in the College’s diversity statement (https://about.lafayette.edu/diversity-statement/).
Lafayette College is committed to creating a diverse community: one that is inclusive and responsive, and is supportive of each and all of its faculty, students, and staff. All members of the College community share a responsibility for creating, maintaining, and developing a learning environment in which difference is valued, equity is sought, and inclusiveness is practiced. Lafayette College is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from women and minorities.
Review of applications will begin February 15, 2020 and continue until the position is filled. Questions about the position should be directed to Prof. Lauren Anderson, Search Committee Chair, at andersol@lafayette.edu. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
