Chemical Engineering Teaching Faculty Position
Non-Tenure Track Position
The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at the Florida A&M University - Florida State University College of Engineering is pleased to invite applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, twelve-month teaching faculty position in the city of Tallahassee. Florida. This is a permanent position, which has university benefits and opportunities for promotion. The main responsibilities for this position are those associated with teaching undergraduate chemical engineering courses. These include chemical engineering process design, process control and other courses in the core curriculum. The candidate will prepare documentation for assessment of these courses as part of the program accreditation process and also mentor and advise students.
The Department has a dynamic group of faculty active in research and teaching across various areas of chemical, biomedical, and materials engineering. The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering is the unique combination of two outstanding universities with overlapping but distinct missions – the nation's top Historically Black College/University and a Tier-1 research university. As such we provide an outstanding research and entrepreneurship-based education to one of the most diverse student populations in the US. Faculty are employed by one of our partner universities, but hold joint faculty privileges at both institutions.
Suitable applicants must possess an earned PhD degree in chemical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Experience in chemical or biochemical industry, particularly process design and control and use of process simulator software such as Aspen, is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to motivate and inspire students are essential.
