The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering is soliciting applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level to join 18 collegial, supportive, and diverse faculty. This search is focused on the area of chemical catalysis with interest in converting biorenewable molecules being highly desirable. The candidate will have the opportunity to directly engage in significant interdisciplinary collaborations including the National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center for Biorenewable Chemicals (http://www.cbirc.iastate.edu) and the Bioeconomy Institute (http://www.biorenew.iastate.edu). Responsibilities will include training of graduate students as well as undergraduate education and service activities. Iowa State University and the College of Engineering are invested in increasing the participation of those traditionally under-represented in higher education. In addition to internally supported initiatives, active grants include NSF ADVANCE Institutional Transformation, Innovation Through Institutional Integration and Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate.
