The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) invites application for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor position to begin August 19, 2019. UMD is a comprehensive regional university overlooking Lake Superior. Duluth is a scenic port city within proximity to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, and has extensive cultural, education, and recreational opportunities. The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate classes/laboratories in the Department of Chemical Engineering, develop a sustainable research program, and provide appropriate service to the department, the college, the university, and the profession. All areas of research related to chemical engineering will be considered. Some preference may be given to candidates with research experience in process control, catalysis, environmental engineering, sustainable energy, or bioengineering. Candidates should have demonstrated a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and a strong record of peer-reviewed publications. Applicants must have a PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution (by the start of the appointment).
