FACULTY POSITIONS OPENING
PROFESSOR OF PRACTICE (NON-TENURE-TRACK)
The School of Chemical, Biological and Materials Engineering (CBME) at The University of Oklahoma invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty level position of Professor of Practice. The goal of the position is to provide support and leadership for the laboratory teaching of chemical engineering. Duties will include teaching multiple sections of the chemical engineering laboratory classes, and managing the chemical engineering teaching laboratories. Within these courses, duties will include supervision of graduate teaching assistants / instructors, grading of laboratory reports, coordination with lab technician(s) to ensure lab equipment is maintained, ensuring close involvement with the faculty who are teaching core courses and participating in review and assessment of course objectives. A critical component will be to manage laboratory safety. We have recently renovated the laboratory with a $500,000 gift and we expect that the candidate will help integrate the experiments into our laboratory curriculum. Chemical Engineering at OU has an exceptionally strong undergraduate student body; currently, more than 1 in 7 of our students are National Merit Finalists. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in chemical engineering or closely related discipline and have significant experience in the private sector. Applicants with process engineering experience in industrial pilot plants and/or industrial design experience are preferred. Applicants must have a strong desire to work with undergraduate students in Chemical Engineering.
