Assistant / Associate / Full Professor of Chemical Engineering, University of Nevada, Reno
The Chemical and Materials Engineering Department at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Chemical Engineering. It is preferred that applicants have both their Bachelor’s and Doctoral degrees in Chemical Engineering, however only one degree in Chemical Engineering is required. For consideration to Associate or Full Professor rank, applicants must meet the university standards for appointment to the rank and must have a strong national and international scholarly reputation. Applicants should indicate the rank being sought in the cover letter.
The research area is open, and all topics will be considered. However, preference will be given to research topics that complement the expertise of the department, with subjects of water, energy, and catalysis preferred. Water has long been an important topic in Nevada, and contemporary areas of interest include reuse, emerging pollutants, mining production and drainage, etc. Other research areas of interest include alternate / sustainable energy (clean coal, biofuels, solar), sensing, detection and degradation of pollutants/toxins, enhanced oil recovery, heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis, and bio-catalysis.
