Faculty Position in Biomedical Engineering

The School of Chemical Engineering seeks nominations and applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor as part of the NIH-funded Centers for Biomedical Research Excellence (CoBRE), Oklahoma Center for Respiratory and Infectious Diseases (https://ocrid.okstate.edu/). Candidates shall have an earned doctorate in Chemical Engineering or closely related area. Candidates who have a research focus on influenza virus or RSV with current research funding are particularly desirable, although candidates with backgrounds in other respiratory infectious diseases will be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a nationally recognized, extramurally-supported research program, collaborate with center investigators, participate in center activities, and contribute to undergraduate and graduate education.
Our fourteen faculty members instruct 400 undergraduates with an emphasis on both contemporary industrial practice and scientific fundamentals. Our undergraduates have an outstanding record of success in AIChE national student competitions and are well-prepared for graduate school or careers in industry. Currently, 45 graduate students are investigating a broad range of topics in our comprehensive MS and PhD program. Strengths in graduate education and research include biomedical engineering, traditional process engineering, molecular modeling, separations, multi-scale computational modeling and petroleum drilling/production/processing. The School enjoys strong support from alumni, friends, and industry; providing seven endowed chairs and professorships, faculty development endowments, and numerous research and educational partnerships.
