The College of Engineering and the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Purdue University are seeking applications to fill two positions in the general area of physical/chemical sciences and engineering applied to pharmaceutical systems.
The positions are for a full-time tenure-track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, where specific rank will be determined as appropriate for the record of accomplishment of the candidate. This position is intended to support the work of the multi-university NSF ERC on Structured Organic Particulate Systems. The academic home of the candidate will be within one or more of the engineering schools with a potential joint appointment in the Department of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy. These are nine-month (academic year) appointments.
Candidates should have expertise in fundamental and applied research related to the development, design and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. Representative areas of interest include:
Physical chemistry for design of pharmaceutical systems for performance and manufacture
Material sciences for pharmaceutical solids
Formulation and manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals, including peptides, proteins and vaccines
Process sensing, imaging and control technologies
Particle technology
Fundamentals of operations associated with drug substance and drug product manufacture
Pharmaceutical engineering
Statistical modeling and analysis relevant to this domain
