Faculty Positions in Chemical and Biological Engineering,
Tufts University
The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (ChBE) at Tufts University invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level as part of an ongoing plan to expand the size of the faculty. The goal for this year’s search is to fill up to two positions. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain an active, highly visible research program and to demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students. Priority will be given to applicants whose research complements the current strengths of the department in materials for energy and sustainability, cellular and biomolecular engineering, and systems and process modeling. We seek individuals who embrace opportunities to work collaboratively within the department as well as across the School of Engineering (SOE) and the University.
Tufts SOE distinguishes itself by the interdisciplinary and integrative nature of its engineering education and research programs within the environment of both a "Research Class 1" university and a top-ranked undergraduate institution. We offer the best of a liberal arts college atmosphere, coupled with the resources of a major research university. As home to seven graduate and professional schools, Tufts University prides itself on its culture of cross-School partnerships.
Candidates should possess an earned doctorate in chemical engineering or a closely related discipline. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. However, to assure full consideration, applications should be submitted by November 10, 2014. Please send a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, list of publications, research plan, teaching statement, and full contact information for at least four references to: Professor Lee, Chair, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Tufts University, 4 Colby St., Medford, MA, 02155. Application materials should be submitted electronically via e-mail to. https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/4351
