The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. The anticipated start date is August 15, 2015.

The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Florida is the preeminent chemical engineering department in the State of Florida and among the top programs in the southeastern region. The University of Florida is a land-grant institution with outstanding colleges of Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture, Liberal Arts & Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine all co-located on the Gainesville campus, providing extensive opportunities for fruitful interdisciplinary collaborations.

UF has a 2,000-acre campus and more than 900 buildings (including 170 with classrooms and laboratories). The northeast corner of campus is listed as a Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. The UF residence halls have a total capacity of some 7,500 students and the five family housing villages house more than 1,000 married and graduate students. While the UF, with its exceptional faculty and resources and picturesque campus, provides a wonderful academic environment, the quality of life in the city of Gainesville and the surrounding community is second to none. Serving as the cultural, educational, and commerce center of beautiful North Central Florida, Gainesville is only an hour from both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico and less than two hours from Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, a distinguished academic record, demonstrated potential for creative research, and commitment to graduate and undergraduate education. Candidates with interest in all research areas of importance to Chemical Engineering will be considered. Faculty members are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral researchers, develop an internationally-recognized and well-funded research program, and contribute to collaborative efforts within the department and UF.
