Qualified candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field, a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering, a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, and an outstanding record of research accomplishments. Applications are accepted in all fields of Chemical Engineering; however priority will be given to applicants with a specialization in energy conversion, storage or transport. Research focused on renewable energy sources, solid state and electrochemical systems as well as catalysis and fuel chemistry is of particular interest but is not a requirement for the position.
The successful candidate will be an individual with professional ethics and strong interpersonal skills, expected to work collaboratively with colleagues both within and outside the department to develop a strong externally funded research program, successfully teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and provide quality service to the department, the University and the Chemical Engineering profession.
Applications should be submitted via email to CHE_Faculty_Search@fit.edu and must include: a cover letter with a statement of the candidate’s research plan and teaching philosophy; a current curriculum vitae outlining research and teaching experience and accomplishments; copies of up to three relevant publications; an itemized list of estimated start-up costs specifically listing any required equipment; and names and contact information of three professional references. Questions should be addressed to Prof. Jim Brenner, Search Committee Chair (jbrenner@fit.edu). Consideration of applicants will begin on November 15, 2014, and continue until the position is filled.
