SCHOOL FOR GREEN CHEMISTRY AND ENGINEERING

The newly formed School for Green Chemistry and Engineering at The University of Toledo invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in chemical engineering with an appointment in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering. The position, which is subject to budgetary approval, is expected to be at the Assistant Professor level, but senior appointments will be considered for faculty with a strong record of research accomplishment. The position will start August 2012. A Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering or a related field is required; postdoctoral experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in interdisciplinary teaching, research, and outreach activities of the school and department in the areas of green chemistry and green engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) level and to develop a vigorous, externally funded research program in an area of chemical engineering complementary to existing school and department strengths. Strong preference will be given to applicants working on chemical and enzymatic conversions of biomass to platform chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and polymers.
