The Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Department at Tulane University seeks candidates with an outstanding record of scholarly, educational and administrative achievement for Department Chair. Tulane has undergone a process of renewal with the formation of a new School of Science and Engineering, presenting significant opportunities for collaboration with the physical and life sciences as well as with the Medical School. All faculty members contribute to a vibrant research environment and to strong teaching that features individualized attention. Funding from all major federal agencies is represented in the departmental research portfolio. Our department plans to grow in faculty and student size. Major additions to laboratory and office space for the department and the Entergy Chair in Clean Energy Engineering are key features of those expansion plans. The department chair will be in a unique position, helping design a department and university that is distinctive in its objectives of research, educational excellence, public service and mission to support a city of great historical importance. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering or related field and be authorized to work in the U.S. We especially encourage applications from women, minorities and persons with disabilities. Tulane is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer. Applications will be reviewed on a continuing basis until the position is filled. Please send a cover letter outlining your vision, vita and 5 references (by post or email) to Department Chair Search Committee, Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Department, 300 Boggs Building, Tulane University, New Orleans, LA 70118. chemeng@tulane.edu.
