The Department of Chemical Engineering at Michigan Technological University invites applications for an assistant professor tenure-track faculty position. All areas of chemical engineering are of interest, including but not limited to advance materials, biotechnology, energy & sustainability, modeling (molecular simulation, systems etc), separations, process simulation & design, and process automation & control. We are seeking candidates who have demonstrated excellence in research and have a strong commitment to teaching and working with students.

The Department of Chemical Engineering currently has 15 full-time faculty members, 450 undergraduate students and 30 graduate students. Externally-funded research has doubled in the past four years, and the Department is on a trajectory to double its graduate enrollment over the next five years. In March 2018, the undergraduate program was ranked 9th in the nation by College Factual, making it the highest-ranked program in the State of Michigan. The Department has one of the best Unit Operations Laboratory in the nation with two pilot-plant set-up and state-of-the-art process simulation and control facility. Michigan Tech's graduates are eagerly sought by industry because of their hands-on training and rigorous coursework.
