OPEN RANK Faculty Position in Chemical Engineering

POLYMERS/BIOTECHNOLOGY/SOFT MATTER-FLUIDS

Assistant / Associate / Full Professor- The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions. Preferred areas of research may be experimental or theoretical in nature and would complement existing strengths in Bioengineering, Polymer Science and soft matter / complex fluids.
Chemical Engineering: Faculty members are expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, contribute significantly to the advancement of basic science and engineering as evidenced by scholarly publications, and develop a nationally recognized program of sponsored research. The successful applicant will hold a position in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The Department of Chemical Engineering has 20 full-time faculty members, over 60 graduate students, and over 425 undergraduates. Research expenditures exceeded $6.5M in the last fiscal year. The Department has a long history of successful interdisciplinary research.
Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field, outstanding record of research accomplishments, and commitment to excellence in teaching and research.
Starting Date: September 1, 2016.
