The Howard P. Isermann Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and the School of Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) invite applications for a tenure track faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level. The new faculty member will join a vibrant department at a time of unprecedented growth and renewal. The Department has strengths that include molecular biotechnology, interfacial engineering, and system/process dynamics. We are looking for an exceptional individual who will develop cross-cutting research to help further integrate these areas.

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. (or foreign degree equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field. Degree requirements must be satisfactorily completed by the time appointment begins. In addition, candidates must demonstrate, through accomplishments, the promise of future distinction in scholarship and education. The successful candidate will have duties that include teaching in the area of Chemical Engineering; performing original research, mentoring students; and engaging in a significant level of service to the department, the university, and the Chemical Engineering profession.

Qualified individuals must apply by completing a short online application at http://rpijobs.rpi.edu/postings/2782, and by uploading a complete CV, a statement of research/teaching plans, and the names of three references.

We welcome candidates who will bring diverse intellectual, geographical, gender and ethnic perspectives to Rensselaer’s work and campus communities. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
