THE UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO
SCHOOL OF GREEN CHEMISTRY AND ENGINEERING

The School of Green Chemistry and Engineering at The University of Toledo invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in chemical engineering with an appointment in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering and another tenure-track faculty position in organic or organometallic chemistry with an appointment in the Department of Chemistry. The positions, which are subject to budgetary approval, are expected to be at the Assistant Professor level, but senior appointments will be considered for faculty with a strong record of research accomplishment. The positions will start August 2013. A Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field is required; postdoctoral experience is preferred. The successful candidates will be expected to participate in interdisciplinary teaching, research, and outreach activities of the school and departments in the areas of green chemistry and green engineering. Successful candidates will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) level and to develop a vigorous, externally funded research program in an area of chemical engineering or green synthetic organic chemistry complementary to existing school and department strengths. Strong preference will be given to applicants working on conversions of biomass to chemicals, atom economical chemical syntheses in environmentally benign solvents, or catalytic conversion of C1 feedstocks to chemicals and chemical products.
