The Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking dynamic individuals with strong research leadership potential, who can contribute to a rapidly growing, large department, and develop well-funded research programs of international visibility and impact.

While we welcome applications in all areas of chemical and biomolecular engineering, we have particular interests in basic and applied research related to materials and processes for carbon capture and utilization, clean energy and sustainable developments, membrane science and engineering, and related areas. We are looking for individuals with strong commitments to both research and education, who can synergize well with our Department.

You may wish to note the following about NUS and Singapore:

Our Faculty of Engineering has been consistently rated in the top-10 internationally by the QS World University Ranking (analogous to the annual US News & World Reports ratings of US universities).

Our Department is one of the largest internationally, with more than 40 full-time equivalent faculty members and over 80 additional research staff. More information on the Faculty of Engineering and the Department is available at http://www.eng.nus.edu.sg and http://www.chbe.nus.edu.sg respectively.

Our Department is the only non-US member of the Chemical Research Council (USA) and provides an exciting environment for cutting-edge research with an excellent in-house research infrastructure for experimental and computational work.

Our successful and high-profile international partnerships include collaborative graduate degree and research programs with top institutions in the world such as the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign), MIT, etc.

Our undergraduate program with over 1,200 students is accredited by UK’s IChemE (at the Master’s level), and Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB). In addition, Singapore is a member of the Washington Accord, and our undergraduate degrees enjoy cross-border accreditation by the member countries.

The chemical sector is the largest contributor to Singapore’s manufacturing output. The Department has played and continues to have a pivotal role in developing the research infrastructure for Singapore’s and the region’s dynamic manufacturing and knowledge-based economy.

Singapore is an international, cross-cultural city-state with a western-style living environment in a culturally vibrant eastern setting. Singapore is truly a gateway to the East, a region rapidly growing in economic, political and cultural influence. You can find more information on Singapore at http://www.contactsingapore.sg/.

In addition to its excellent public schools, Singapore enjoys many international schools (e.g., American, Canadian, UK, Japan, etc.) for quality education and environment for children.

Please explore this website http://www.chbe.nus.edu.sg to learn more about us and to see how you could become a part of our vibrant and diverse community.

If you would like to apply for a position, please email a copy of your curriculum vitae (including a list of publications and impact analysis), a detailed research plan, and a statement of teaching interests to:
